Why the power goes off
Whole house: usually the main switch, the meter fuse, or a street outage. Part of the house: a tripped breaker or RCD, a failed circuit, or a faulty appliance dragging it down. Old rewireable fuse boards fail more often and take longer to diagnose. We find the cause, not just reset the switch.
How we find it
- Rule out the streetWe'll ask you to check neighbours and the outage map before we drive out, so you're not paying for a lines fault.
- Isolate the circuitWhich circuit dropped tells us where to look. Board, wiring, or appliance.
- Test, don't guessInsulation and continuity testing finds the fault. Resetting it again doesn't.
- Fix and certifyFixed price for the repair. Certificate of Compliance for anything we replace.

Can I just reset the breaker?
Once. If it trips again, something's wrong and repeated resets can damage the wiring. Leave it off and call.
The RCD trips when it rains
Water getting into an outdoor socket, light or junction. Common in older houses. Findable and fixable in a visit.
How long will you take?
Most faults are found and fixed in one visit. If we need parts we don't carry, we'll make it safe and come back.
